Back in Texas

I just can't get away. I like this state during these fall/winter months. It's cool and comfortable. But I'm looking forward to getting back to Home with Karly. 0430 is really early.

The last couple months or so

I wish I could update more often but alas it is difficult now that I have a full time job. I will obviously continue to update on my TDY's.
Last week Karly and I had the fortune to enjoy most of 5 days at Fort Leavenworth Kansas. It's a beautiful old post which is small but has a lot of money. Thus the streets are lined with fancy old style lamps and all of the required barricades around the buildings since 9/11 have been replaced with nice looking fences and other reasonable security devices instead of the ugly concrete barricades. The main street down Leavenworth is similar to a nice old fashioned downtown minus the brick street.
I'd like to point out how much I think the majority of the population misses out on a lot of the United States neatest and most well preserved historic places by not either being in the military or visiting the installations. Sure it can be annoying going through the gates and security checks but in the end you get to some incredible places. Of course you don't get the full feel unless your in the military and able to stay at those places but what can we say, not everyone is cut out to protect our freedoms.
I will try to post a little more for the next few days while I'm traveling.

PLEASE if you have any questions or stories you want me to tell, let me know.
